BUGLIONI MAKES COMEBACK AT YORK HALL
Frank Buglioni roars back into action on Wednesday 16th July when he headlines a title-packed show featuring London’s favourite fighters at the York Hall, Bethnal Green.
Enfield star Buglioini will take on Tichfield’s Sam Couzens with the Vacant Southern Area Super-Middleweight title on the line, alongside top talents Mitchell Smith, Lewis Pettittand Bradley Skeete and more on the card.
The show will be televised live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546).
Former WBO European Champion Buglioni, 25, is raring to get through the ropes again following his first career defeat to hard-hitting Sergey Khomitsky in April, and is more focused than ever to become a world champion.
“It was a hard lesson to learn, but I’m still here, I’ve learnt from it and I’m more determined than ever to reach my goal of becoming world champion,” Said Buglioni.
“There are no excuses from me, I wasn’t at my best and I got caught with some good shots by him. Now I’ve got to prove my strength of character to myself and my fans that I can come back bigger and better,”
“It’s great to be fighting for a title in my first fight back. I could’ve gone down the six or eight round route to ease myself back into it, but fighting for the Southern Area title against Couzens, who will be up for the fight, will make me perform to my best. He’s seen what happened to me last time and will want to do it again so I’ve got to stay 100 percent focussed on him,”
“Other great fighters have lost and come back to win world titles so it’s down to me to show that I’m the real thing by winning the title against Couzens and then moving on.”
Chief support sees big-hitting Harrow Weald super-featherweight talent Mitchell Smith face unbeaten Peter Cope from Hartlepool for the Vacant English Super-Featherweight title.
Smith, 21, was scheduled to face Cope in April, but had to withdraw due to a knee injury. However, he’s now recovered and fit to continue his 2014 campaign towards the British title.
All-action super-bantamweight Lewis Pettitt makes the first defence of his WBA International title that he won in April with a sensational fifth round win against Emerson Santos Carvalho.
Pettitt, 23, is closing-in fast on the top domestic 122lb fighters and is looking to put on another power-packed performance to show that he’s the next big name coming through the division.
Penge’s Bradley Skeete returns to action in a ten-round international contest following his career best showing against Tobia Giuseppe Loriga in April. Skeete, 26, stopped the Italian in seven exciting rounds to make the first defence of his WBA Intercontinental Welterweight title.
The show features a quality packed undercard including Wembley Light-MiddleweightGary Corcoran, Chingford super-middleweight Tom Baker, Islington welterweightGeorgie Kean, Canning Town light-welterweight Billy Morgan, Erith middleweight J.M Coyle. Completing the undercard is the highly anticpated pro-debuts of Clapham light-heavyweight Kirk Garvey (2012 ABA Light-Heavyweight Champion) and Raynes Park welterweight Louis Adolphi (2012 ABA Light-Welterweight Champion).
