Andre Ward is focused on his recovering
He will be back in six months
The Super Middleweight World Champion, Andre Ward is recovering smoothly after undergoing surgery to his right shoulder, due to a tear caused during a sparring session at the end of last year.
The surgery took place at the beginning of January and Ward started rehabilitation on Monday January 14.
The boxer said the injury occurred while he was throwing a punch, and at first doctors recommended rest and therapy, however, a second opinion remitted him to surgery, and now he is at the recovering phase which is going pretty well, he admitted.
“I still feel some discomfort to make some moves. Doctors gave a good prognosis for full recovery of the shoulder, and said that I should be back in the ring within six months”, explained the world champion to the WBA Medical Committee, through his promoter Goossen Tutor Promotions.
Ward stated that it relies on the professional team in charge of the monitoring the recovery process.
