RISING STAR BUGLIONI HEADS UP AN ACTION PACKED WEMBLEY UNDERCARD
British boxing’s hottest young prospect Frank Buglioni will head up the big Wembley Arena undercard on Saturday 16th March.
The London star will feature on the biggest boxing show of the year, joint-headlined by W.B.O. World Lightweight Champion Ricky Burns and W.B.O. World Light-Heavyweight Champion Nathan Cleverly, plus George Groves, Dereck Chisora* and Liam Walsh.
All the action will be live and exclusive on the Channel of Champions BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546).
Buglioni, now unbeaten in seven fights with five knockouts, starts his 2013 campaign with a step up to eight-rounds for the first time in his career against an opponent to be announced.
The 23-year-old from Enfield has been tipped for the top this year by BoxNation presenter Steve Bunce who chose Buglioni as his emerging talent in a recent Independent feature ‘The stars of 2013: The talents that will hit the big time next year’.
He hasn’t escaped the eye of The Sun’s well respected columnist Colin Hart who said last year that Buglioni has the equipment to reach the top of the super-middleweight division.
“It’s an unbelievable show to have my first fight of the year on amongst some of British boxing’s biggest names in Burns, Cleverly and Groves, it’s a real honour”, Said Buglioni.
“I had a great 2012, getting in five fights and going from four to six rounds, some finishing early and some going the distance, it’s all great experience as I move towards my first title this year, hopefully a Southern Area or English title”.
“I’ve been working hard in the gym with Mark and Jimmy Tibbs and I’ve been doing 8-10 rounds so I hope to see the benefits and improvements when I get in the ring”.
An action-packed undercard also features unbeaten Edinburgh light-middleweight John Thain; West Drayton light-middleweight Steve O’Meara; Wembley light-welterweight Gary Corcoran; Harrow Weald super-featherweight Mitchell Smith; Islington super-featherweight Joey Taylor and Bushey light-middleweight Miles Shinkwin.
