Teen Sensation Siar Ozgul Faces ‘Old Master’ Matt Scriven on Oct 25th

Siar_Ozgul_TomasSamusas4270WEBREADYUnbeaten Light Middleweight teen sensation Siar Ozgul is set for a tough test later this month, when he takes on Nottingham’s hugely experienced Matt ‘Scriv’ Scriven on the Dave Murphy Acourtier Events promoted CAPITAL PUNISHMENT mega event at York Hall on Saturday 25th October 2014.

Whilst still a novice as a pro, Hackney based Siar fought over eighty times as an amateur in Turkey, during which time he not only represented his homeland in various international competitions, but was also crowned Junior Turkish Champion.

Since turning pro almost one year ago to the day, the battling Turk has racked up four top class points victories, over Michal Voska, Chris Jenkinson, Tomas Samusas and most recently William Warburton.

Young Siar’s opponent Matt Scriven is highly experienced, having fought one hundred times during his seven year professional career, many of these against such esteemed opposition as fellow TRAD TKO trained WBO International, European, Commonwealth and British Middleweight Champion Billy Joe Saunders, WBI Inter-Continental and British Light Middleweight Champion Brian Rose, IBO and GBC and British Champion Ashley Theophane amongst others.

Matt Scriven is also an experienced domestic championship boxer, having fought twice for the BBBofC Midland Area title, securing it on his second attempt, as well as winning the vacant British Masters Light Middleweight title, which he successfully defended against Wayne Shepherd before losing the crown, by disqualification, to Lee Murtagh.

Taking on such an experienced boxer on only his fifth professional outing doesn’t seem to worry Siar one iota, as he made clear when he spoke after a training session at the TRAD TKO Gym, under the watchful eyes of his coach, former Commonwealth Lightweight Champion Mo Hussein.

“I will fight anyone, he fought a lot, yes, but no worry for me.

After the fight I want to fight more rounds, I want to be the Champion soon, I need to fight six rounds after this fight.

My ambition is a lot higher, I was Junior Champion as an amateur, I aim to be World Champion as a pro, soon.

I have the best trainer, Mo Hussein, prepare me for the fight, training is very good, sparring is very good, sparring Festim Lama, he’s tough, good hard sparring.

I’m ready to fight now, can’t wait for October 25th and win number five.”

Siar Ozgul vs Matt Scriven features on the undercard of the Baz Rehman sponsored Marianne Marston versus Marianna Gulyas MBC International title clash, takes place on the Dave Murphy Acourtier Events promoted CAPITAL PUNISHMENT mega event at York Hall in Bethnal Green, London, on Saturday, 25th October 2014.
