Fight of year candidate Wright vs Bujaj on MSG tonight
Brooklyn, NY (September 19, 2014) Star of David Promotions is exceedingly pleased and excited to announce that Mid-Atlantic area fight fans will now be able to check out one of the contenders for 2014 Fight of the Year, the cruiserweight tussle between Junior Wright and Steve Bujaj. This bout thrilled boxing fanatics who saw the two men engage in the heated scrap in Brooklyn.
MSG Network will show that entire Wright-Bujaj scrap, and a ton more action from the early summer show put together by Dmitriy Salita, the fighter/promoter who is happy to be able to showcase his fights on the home of the NBA Knicks and the NHL Rangers.
Viewers can tune in on September 19th at 10pm and the show will also run September 20th at 7pm.
“Junior Wright versus Steve Bujaj was the best live fight I have ever seen,” Salita said of a contest for which the WBC International cruiserweight title was on the line. “It is rare that a fight lives up to it’s hype but in this case, it exceeded all expectations and then some. MSG has a long and rich tradition of great fights staged in the center of the world for boxing, New York City. I am grateful that MSG will televise this show and New York City boxing fans will get a chance to see what “Brooklyn Brawl” is all about.
“MSG Network is glad to team up with the Dimitriy Salita and Star of David Promotions to telecast the thrilling fight between cruiserweights Junior Wright and Steve Bujaj,” said Ocean MacAdams, senior vice president, programming, MSG Networks. “We are proud of the classic fights we telecast on MSG, and this candidate for ‘fight of the year’ is a must-watch for boxing fans.”
Besides the main event fight fans will see world class prospects Steve Martinez, a two-fisted closer who has trouble getting fights because boxers fear his power; Dimash Niyazov, a slick stylist; and future heavyweight superstar Jarrell Miller, who combines power and charisma in a way which has some insiders tabbing him as a future heavyweight
champion. All are NYC residents climbing their way up the pro ranks to a world title. Also, pay special attention to unbeaten Russian amateur standout Alexey Zubov, now living in California, and fighting as a cruiserweight.
“I fought on MSG myself, winning the Golden Gloves, and as a pro, the fan recognition that it brings is incredible,” Salita said. “I am grateful that MSG will bring much needed exposure to these talented, hungry New York-based fighters.”
