Dorticos: “After this fight I am going to be ready to fight anybody”
“I never underestimate anybody. I approach all of my fights the same. This is a great opportunity for both of us. We are both undefeated but at the end of the day I am going to come out of the fight with the win. I have been waiting for this opportunity my whole career. This fight will get me ranked in the top 15 in both the WBA and WBC. After this fight I am going to be ready to fight anybody,” undefeated Cuban cruiserweight Yunier Dorticos in interview with Ryan Burton of boxingscene.com
In just a few hours Dorticos (15-0 15 KOs) will face Hamilton Ventura (13-0) in a battle of undefeated cruiserweights on “San Diego Fights”, the first fight card of the year for California Hall of Fame promoter Bobby D Presents in association with Caribe Promotions at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Mission Valley.
In the main event fellow countryman Yordenis Ugas (15-1, 7KOs) of Miami, Florida, by way of Santiago, Cuba will face undefeated twenty-five year old San Diego fighter Emmanuel “Renegade” Robles (9-0-1, 3KOs). Ugas is a 2008 Olympic bronze medalist and interim WBC 140lb Latino champion
With 15kos in 15 fights, Dorticos is looking to show that he is an exciting fighter that fans should look at for. “The way that I see it is that I always try to give my best for the public, the media and the fans. I am a well rounded fighter and I am explosive. I try to put on a show. You have different styles of fighting and some of my countryman are more pure boxers but my style seems to be fan friendly. Don’t get me wrong, I will always support my countrymen but I come to win and put on a great show,’ Dorticos told BoxingScene.com.
