(WBO jr welterweight title)

WBO jr welterweight champion Mike Alvarado was able to lose the final one pound to make the 140lb limit on Friday in Denver. Alvarado initially weighed 141 lbs, then went to a local boxing gym to drop the excess weight. He returned to the scale with just minutes to spare and weighed in at exactly 139.8 lbs.

Challenger Ruslan Provodnikov previously weighed in at an identical 139.8 lbs. So Alvarado will be defending his world title Saturday night at the sold out First Bank Center in Denver, Colorado, and a huge national TV audience on HBO.
