“August 31 is going to be a bittersweet evening for me,” stated Smith, a member of the DC and Maryland boxing hall of fames. “My father did so much not only to support the many aspects of boxing I’ve been involved in but with all of the community. He was a regular at the gym, came to all of the fights and backed a lot of non-boxing events. It’s going to be weird without him in the crowd but I’m happy to honor him exactly how he deserves”.
Highlighting the card will be separate bouts featuring multi-time National Champion Joey “Bazooka Joe” Veazey 2013 Golden Gloves Champion Jerome Featherstone Jr. and heavyweight Sam Crossed.
Opponents for Featherstone Jr., Crossed and Veazy along with additional bouts will be announced shortly.
