“BOXEO TELEMUNDO FORD” CONTINUES WITH ITS THIRD FIGHT OF THE SPRING SEASON
MIAMI – MARCH 6, 2013- This Friday night brings a night of thrills and great boxing on “Boxeo Telemundo Ford” at 11:35 PM ET/PT, 10:35 CT with a must-see fight between two Mexican counterparts such as Johnny “The Maze” García and Oscar “Ceviche” Ibarra with the Latin CMB Super Featherweight Title on the line at Mexico City’s Plaza Condesa Auditorium. The fight will be narrated, as always, by the always reliable René Giraldo, while Jessi Losada provides analysis and Karim Mendiburu follows the buzz about the fight on social media via Twitter on @telemundosports and #boxeotelemundo.
Johnny “The Maze” García, a Ciudad Neza product, will put his 16-4-1 career record with eight knockouts on the line, and he is no stranger to fighting in high stakes circumstances or big venues. García’s last fight in October of 2012 was a memorable one in Argentina at Buenos Aires’ renowned Luna Park against Omar Narváez. García also possesses the valuable trait of being a savvy veteran with six years of experience under his belt, but Ibarra doesn’t fall behind in that category and actually surpasses him in that area, having made his professional debut in 2005.
Ibarra, a Mexico City native, has accumulated 27 wins and eight losses in his career with 18 knockouts. This will actually be his first fight of 2013 and his chance to get back to winning after a 2012 that saw him end his winning streak of 13 straight fights with three consecutive losses.
Ibarra is a boxer capable of providing the biggest thrills in high stakes fights. Last year, he fought twice against Juan José “Goofy” Montes, and both times Ibarra put on a show. The first bout happened in Guadalajara in February of 2012 and was named the “Fight of the Year” by various boxing experts. Seven months later, the rematch went down to the wire and the winner was decided by the judges.
The fight between García and Ibarra has all the ingredients needed to become a memorable one, and it can be seen only on Telemundo.
