It’s a Done deal for Frank Warren: Frank Warren Promotions and BoxNation partner with BETFRED.com for Wembley fight night
FWP and The Channel of Champions BoxNation have teamed up with betting giants BETFRED.com for the Rule Britannia fight night at Wembley Arena on March 16.
BETFRED.com will be the official partner for the event billed as one of the biggest nights of British boxing this year.
BETFRED.com founder Fred Done said: “Rule Britannia will showcase the best of British boxing and I’m excited to be a part of it. We have some extraordinary boxing talent in this country so I’m looking forward to a night of explosive actions”.
Frank Warren said: ‘It’s fantastic news that Betfred.com will be partnering with us for what will be one the biggest boxing events to take place in the UK in recent years. ‘Rule Britannia’ at London’s Wembley Arena, will showcase some our very best boxing talent from all corners of the UK, and will see two out of three of Britain’s reigning world champions in action on the bill.
Welsh dragon Nathan Cleverly faces the mandatory challenger for his WBO Light Heavyweight World Championship Robin Krasniqi, whilst Scotland’s WBO World Lightweight king Ricky Burns, attempts to become Britain’s only current unified world champion when he takes on IBF boss, Miguel Vasquez”.
Rule Britannia will be broadcast live from Wembley Arena on BoxNation (Sky Ch 437, Virgin Media Ch 546), Britain’s first and only dedicated boxing channel.
WBO World Lightweight Champion Ricky Burns headlines the night in a sizzling unification showdown against tough Mexican IBF World Champion Miguel Vázquez.
Welsh star Nathan Cleverly, the WBO World Light-Heavyweight Champion, joint headlines the card and will take on Serbian challenger Robin Krasniqi.
On the undercard is London’s George Groves, challenging for the Vacant European Super-Middleweight title against Senegalese fighter Mohammad Ali Ndiaye.
Groves will be joined by Cromer star Liam Walsh who will be defending his Commonwealth Super-Featherweight title and unbeaten record against Canadian challenger Logan McGuiness.
Dereck Chisora will have his first fight of the year subject to him being successful in reapplying for his British Boxing Board of Control license and will feature in a ten-round International Heavyweight contest.
Rule Britannia will be broadcast live on BoxNation from 7:00 p.m.
