Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (34-0, 24 KOs) dethroned WBO world champion “King” Arthur Abraham (44-5, 29 KOs) and made history by becoming the first Mexican fighter to lay claim to a major super middleweight title. Ramirez boxed beautifully all night and was rewarded with a twelve round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. All judges scored the fight 120-108, given Ramirez a clear cut victory.
